Hey. I was directed here for Mac help with Zoho, but I see that it's a repair board. If none of you folks can help, maybe you can point me to a board, or other source, that can.

My first hope is to provide a link to one of the documents in my Zoho Docs list in a message board post. It sounds simple, everybody does it, yet I can't figure it out. I need the kiddy version, please.

My second wild and crazy dream is to copy the contents of a web page into my Zoho Docs.....like someone else did with this:http://viewer.zoho.com/docs/qOidC ...so that I can do my first hope with it.

I have a suspicion that there is very little difference in handling these issues with Mac vs Windows, but I came here just in case.

We also use a couple PCs' here on occasion.
I am a Remodeling Contractor and have a TPC 1000 tablet that I use for work, with Franklin Tablet Planner and MS Streets and Trips.
I would prefer to use a Mac for everything, OS X is great, but some things are still necessary for the dark side.
Hopefully, Apple will release a Mac tablet, they would be great with our new OS.

randy, I'm under the impression that the range of the Airport Extreme base station is supposed to be a little better than the old one. Also, some models of the AEBS have an antenna port for adding an external antenna that further boosts the Airport's range. These antennae come in unidirectional and omnidirectial formats.

Another factor affecting reception will be the receiving computer itself. The original TBs didn't have all that great a range; the plastic iBooks and aluminum PBs fare much better.

If you do get to the point where you want to buy a new base station, some PC products out there will give you better range for the bucks.

Alternatively, since you already have the AEBS, you could add another old Apple base station as a signal relayer. You could probably get one of those cheap on eBay or elsewhere. Some suppliers, Apple included, may still have the older units available. Simply place it within range of the AEBS and its range is added to the system's existing range.

What bootz said is usually true. I have used an AEBS in a two story house covering two floors, the pool area, and a guest house next to the pool. They work really well. The main determinate is how much of an open area there is between the rooms you need the coverage and each floor.

The good thing about the AEBS is that you can connect two together to increase your range. If one won't cover your whole house, you could purchase two and put them in range to each other to increase the overall coverage.

randy, the only thing to do in such a situation is the old trial and error approach. Ideally, stick the base station on the middle floor -- midway between where you'll normally being using a computer upstairs and in the basement -- and give it a try.

Question re; Airport

We have the original Airport and recently I purchased a 12" Powerbook 867 with the extreme card.
We also use a Cube on our network and are getting DSL connected Tuesday.
Does the new Extreme base station have good enough reception for a two story house and basement?

I wish I could tell you exactly why, but the Lexmark printers can be pretty quirky. The other thing you can try is unplugging it completely for about an hour, then turning it back on to see if the memory in it gets reset.

Reinstalling the drivers from the web site again should clean up any software issues where the computer thinks you need a new cartridge or that you just inserted a new one.

Hi, Neil. I did dl the most current software from the Lexmark site yesterday and turned off the computer, but didn't unplug it from the computer.

Printer's weird. Why should it gag over my changing the cartridge? It wanted me to change the cartridge?lol

Linda's printer:

Try the following:
1. Unplug the printer from the USB port.
2. Re-download the latest drivers from Lexmark's web site:

3. Install the drivers, then restart the computer.
4. Once the computer has restarted, plug the printer back into the USB port.

I decided to install one of the color printers I have here that I never used. This is a Lexmark Z13. I thought I'd start simply.

It prints the "aligment" page but it won't print a test page or a regular page of any kind. I got the message first that I needed a new cartridge but I opened and reseated the cartridge and now I get the message the printer detects a cartridge change. Darned thing won't print. Using 10.2.8 on a Dual 1GhZX G4 desktop machine and a USB connection.

Any ideas? I've written to Lexmark support but if anyone has a quick solution that would be great.

Thanks. that's some of the old info. They don't respond to email and I need the key to unlock the program. I paid for it before but I can't find my key and it's probably in that email database I can't recover. I was hoping to find someone else who bought the program who could send me or sell me the key.

"I've got a crisis going on here, and there's at least one thing that could help. Does anyone have registration info for EntourAid they can send me? I did pay for the program but it's apparently no longer supported and I need to use the program, can't find the reg info and can't use the program. I would buy it again but it seems the web site is gone and I cannot. I need the reg info urgently.

Hint 2003/12/08: Keyboard Shortcuts

Okay, so you want to be able to do some things a little more quickly. Here's a quick hint to help you. Go up to a menu in any program. I'm in Safari right now, and I am going to use the Edit menu as an example.

Under Edit, I have choices like Copy, Paste, Select All, and Find. Now, to the right of each of these choices are some characters. These characters are there to tell you what keys on the keyboard equal that choice. For instance, to the right of "Select All" is the propeller and the letter A. The propeller represents the Command key, previously known as the Apple key, on your keyboard. So, if you were to hold down the command key and the letter A on the keyboard, you would then Select All in the window you're looking at. Give it a try!

So, now you've got the basic idea of using the keyboard shortcuts. You can look in any menu to find out what keyboard shortcuts will work in that program. However, you may run into some special characters that represent keys like the Option, Control, and Shift keys. For a quick reference for what each symbol means, check out the following web page:

Bootz - I installed the Panther update over Jaguar on my new 17 without a single problem. I backed up just to be safe.

The 17 arrived with a dead DIMM slot and has to go back to Apple. Its going to be painful on one of my old machines for a week or two after getting used to the speed and beautiful screen on the 17.

Sounds like a great idea. Lots of times people on the stock boards get annoyed at OT tech questions.
