I need some help. I have decided to go back to school. I have a house to sell, a wife to please, and her credit cards to pay off. I have 2 grand to play with and would like to play this game. I kind of know how the game is played (MY DAD) but would really like to make this work. There is too many chances to make money right now not to not try. If anyone could give any advice other than buy a lottery ticket it would be great. I am willing to read, so any material you could mention would also be great. Thanks guys and girls.

Here is one of my “bottom” watch lists with notes on the technical indicators. Some are more detailed than others, but I believe this to be a fairly strong list if we have an “up” day on the S&P 500, tomorrow. Most charts are NYSE but under $10. Additionally, these charts shall remain on watch for the entire week.

RSI: 2 = 80; 5 = 51; 14 = 36; Bullish buy signal
ADX & PPO: Strong convergence; PPO crossover occurring
Candles: Long white with short shadows up 35%
Volume: Above average
MFI(7) crossing the MFI(14) but oversold

EPL:
Trends, Support, and Resistance: Major trend NOT broken; support at 1.50; resistance 1.98-2.00
RSI: 2 = 92; 5 = 59
ADX & PPO: converged at the 35 area
Candles: Long white with 20% upper wick
Volume: x2 (almost)
MFI 7 = 43; 14 = 16.9

HNR
Trend, Support, and Resistance: Downtrend pierced by upper shadow; support 4.12; R1 = 4.49; R2 = 493
RSI: 2 = 96; 5= 56; 14=37
ADX & PPO: strong convergence with both indicators diverging
Candles: small body with long upper shadow, 3x real body; Shooting star, most likely do to Friday’s trading at the high of the range, so wait for verification
Volume: 20% above 10 average

KPPC
Trends, Support, and Resistance: Downtrend NOT broken, but very nice rounded bottom formed; S1 = 2.33; S2 = 2.33; R1 = 2.74; R2 = 3.39
RSI: 2 = 89; 5 = 53
ADX & PPO: divergence occurring
Candles: gap up with no lower shadow (very strong); upper shadow 20% of real body
Volume: last four at the 10 average
MFI: very oversold three days ago, just coming out and fast

MBI
Trends, Support, and Resistance: 2 month converging channel; S1 3.96; R1 = 4.63; R1 = 5.1;

PHHM
$ volume is fairly low, but it had a major one-day sell off mid-December
Trends, Support, and Resistance: see candles for trend; R
RSI: 2 = 83; 5 = 44; wait and see
ADX & PPO: has not turned
Candles: real bodies are trading in a tight range 4.5 to 5, shadows are outside this but last 8 have closed within the range; look for a break outside the range
Volume: well BELOW average
MFI: 14 OVERSOLD; 7 sharp angle to 43

PNCL
Low $ volume

MACD: Histogram bars drastically changing direction with an impending signal cross-over
Candles: Long white without lower shadow; 20% upper shadow

MFI: 7 sharp increase to 60; 14 oversold conditions

UFI
Trends, Support, and Resistance: Major Panic sell-off for 60% one day drop right through the MA(200); S1 = 2.74; S2 = 2.49; R1 = 3; R2 = 3.53 which is MA(200)
RSI: 2 = 95; 5 = 51; 14 = 40 Bullish buy signal
ADX & PPO: Strong convergence with the turn coming
Candles: Only concern; small spinning top from a gap up. If it gaps up Monday, watch for a pullback to open unless it runs; could be a nice 20% gain
Volume: at 10 average as the last three trading days
MFI: coming out of oversold conditions with the 7 above the 14 signaling a trend change.

WRES:
Trends, Support, and Resistance: Strong down trend; S1 = 1.84; S2 = 1.61; R1 = 2.08; R2 = 2.47

MACD: Histogram three day improving
Candles: gapped down with an intraday reversal, no lower shadow.

Swing trade (2- 10 days) HDB:

While it is an ascending triangle, I’m playing the anticipated breakout early! I have a filter that scans for stock that gap-up at the open, take off; then, retrace back to the open while the S&P 500 must be positive by .01%, and it must have strong volume. I run this after 10 am or (7 am, my time). It returns excellent candidates for swing trades, once you go through each of them.

For future reference, when playing an ascending triangle pattern, you want the breakout above the upper resistance line BEFORE you enter the trade to ensure a "winning" trade. Additionally, the further to the left of the apex of the triangle, the more bullish the pattern.

Someday, if I ever get time, I'll post a video on this...

My problem is not knowing where to start. TA is such a rich and complex disciple that I'm having a hard time figuring out what to include and leave out....

I'm planing to begin with a simple candlestick pattern formation, then, using it to explain basic entry and exit points.
