Desert Mining, Inc. (DSRM.OB) is an independent energy company engaged in the production, development, acquisition, exploitation and exploration of crude oil and natural gas. The Company was incorporated in Nevada in 1979. Our principal properties are located in the Powder River Basin, the Green River Basin and the Washakie Basin of Wyoming and Colorado’s Denver-Julesburg Basin. The Company has identified the Rocky Mountain region as an area for growth and with our Corporate Headquarters located in Longmont, Colorado; we are centrally located to take advantage of this opportunity.
The decline in the production of natural gas in both the US and Canada continues to accelerate. A natural gas supply crunch seems imminent as the economy recovers to normal growth rates thus the longer-term outlook for the petroleum industry is strong and positive.
Current prices are strong despite a weak economy and very warm past winter weather patterns (high gas storage volumes at the beginning of the 2004-05 heating season). Desert has assembled a Management team with an enviable track record in engineering, geology, and finance that has proven their ability to locate and successfully develop prospects. This team combined with the strength of the prospect base and ever increasing demand leaves Desert in a very strong position for sustained growth.
Current Projects:
Our primary focus is on natural gas. This is the most environmentally friendly fossil fuel and is in ever increasing demand. We have identified the Powder River Basin, the Green River Basin and the Washakie Basin, all in Wyoming, as the primary focus of our search for natural gas. We will focus on the deeper, traditional sandstone reservoirs in the Green River Basin where we have accumulated over 16,000 acres of Federal and State minerals. We are the Operator of this acreage and are moving to develop it in a timely manner as outlined in the description of the individual projects in subsequent pages.
