It is shame that you have chosen to be childish.
Post whatever you want. Frankly, I couldn't care less.
Contrary to what you like to think, I do not dislike you,
although it sure seems like you enjoy it more when you think
people dislike you. It lets you play the martyr.
Unfortunately, all you really end up doing is making a fool of yourself.
But, that is a choice you obviously feel comfortable with.
I do, however, think that posting PMs is as low as someone can get.
Had my goal been to have your off-topic posts deleted,
I would have directed my comments to the board moderator
and not as a question to you. I guess I figured that you might
be more interested in taking the high road, but you have proven
that to be a false assumption on my part. Rest assured,
it will not happen again.

is a sentence fragmint that reminds me of my limitations
to contruck propeller Englsih words together in harmingie.

For example,

"we will not deliver the contents of private messages to anyone"

says that eventhought you can send and receive PMs,
iHub will not deliver them to you. As in you can place a letter
into a US Mailbox, but the post office will not deliver it.

The interpretation being used on this board for

"[iHub's] policy is that we will not deliver the contents
of private messages to anyone"

is in error when one says that Matt violated the clause.

The "will not deliver the contents" has a clear meaning
to folks who have an ability to read & understand above
what has been demo'ed on this Jailhouse board in regard
to saying Matt broke that promise.

The meaning of "will not deliver the contents" is iHub's stand
for the situation that a person being an iHub member or not
asks iHub to display or send them a PM made by a person
not of themselves, during a time frame and set of conditions.

What iHub members do with PMs they have received
and have access to in their mailbox or archieve is not part
of the Terms of Use agreement.

As for why is simply, PMs are a function of Trust & Respect.

AK,

One again i must say to you as i did a few weeks ago
on this Jailhouse board, you need to spend more time
outside the jail here and into the freedom air where life
and that called reality will help you prepare better for
things like me and other oddities in this world outside
them walls of the Jailhouse.

For example, you spoke of the Private Message you sent me
as being a part of this Jailhouse here. Well, yes in your mind,
but no not in iHub iReality.

Also best if you educate yourself in the scope of private where
yes it is not public, but no it is not secret like an oath taken
that sets rules & regulations upfront agreed to. This private
message utility is an honor system where both sides agree
in an unstated manner to respect each other in that to send
such a message is no difference to walking behind someone
and speaking into their ear or flashing a picture directly in front
of their eyes where they will see with a look without any first
decision being made by them if they want to hear or view something
that is hidden from the public so activity can go the travesty route.

Guess you need to realize that a Private Message requires
much more respect for a persons' privacy than a public message
since one already in a public posting mode has signaled to all
through their continuation of public postings a degree of acceptance
in the manner displayed on the public board. But these private messages
when used for the first time between folks need ground rules that
can only be acknowledged with a direct give & take of conditions
that set up where the communications can travel. Sure some folks
in their public posts display an "anything goes" and even to a point
that they make it clear that they are holding back and would rather
"let it all hang out" in public and thusly especially in private.

Now AK hopefully you are getting a better feel for this because
we must move on to your next area of needing help, and this is
for you to understand what you posted to me. Better yet let me
say that you have a troubled time telling between what you say
and what you do.

it's an art putting together the right questions.

I think you said, should long articles be posted... and what came to my mind was should they be allowed which might make people answer differently.

For example, on the link question, I don't care for it when someone only posts the link because it takes extra time to bring the article up because I am on dial up and there's almost always bunches of graphics that take forever to load. So I voted "no". But if you asked me if I would allow just posting just the links, I'd say "yes". It's not really a problem, but a convenience and preference. See where I'm going?

Bottomline for me, is that posts should NOT be deleted based on those kinds of posting style preferences... only for violating iHub TOU such as vulgarity, personal attacks, etc. If someone has a major problem with a particular person's posting style, they have the ignore feature to solve the problem.

One other thing, is I do think a link should be provided when posting an article in case someone wants to double check the reference. On a stock board, that is a must because of abuses I've seen in the past where articles were edited and not the same as the original.

I pretty much asked the same question two different ways and figured if I got 5 yes answers for the first question I would get 5 no answers for the second and vice versa.
It's not happening that way!!!!!

I'd also like to see a survey about whether or not boards should be allowed special rules. For me, that's the crux of the problem and facilitates moderator abuse.

I have taken the liberty of taking a survey on the RANTS-PA controversy of whether or not posting entire articles should be allowed.
It means nothing, but I am curious. I will be posting this message on all the boards that I think have people who might be interested. #board-1724

This iBox can function in three modes:

1. Enforce the TOU as primary, and board's iBox as secondary.
2. Enforce the board's iBox as primary, and the TOU as secondary.
3. Enforce the board's iBox and a subset of the TOU.


I vote for a forth option... only iHUB TOU is enforced on all boards... iBox is for information only, no special rules. Allowing individual iBox rules causes too much confusion and conflict amongst posters and an administrative nightmare.
