The Side by Side product and delivery system offers businesses a very cost effective means of increasing efficiency and productivity, and reducing costs related to employee training and testing, recurrent training and testing for sales personnel, accurate consumer instruction, critical specific healthcare education and independent testing, and any number of applications that only you, the customer, can determine. There is no end to the possibilities for Side by Side to improve almost every aspect of your business today.
In the corporate, commercial, institutional and governmental “business to business” (“B2B”) market, SBS would supply Side by Side hardware along with content (pre-recorded video material) developed and produced as per the customer’s specifications and produced and delivered to a pre-agreed budget.
The results are innovative as are the possibilities, because the SBS patented technology makes for a diverse and limitless range of applications in many arenas of training, instruction, entertainment, and learning.
The Side by Side product consists of two components:
1. Hardware: the set-top unit is branded as duo and contains a high-resolution digital video camera and a proprietary field programmable gate array (FPGA), called the “Keyer-Camera” unit.
2. Content: the pre-recorded content in DVD format.
In the Side by Side product, SBS’s patented and proprietary “specialized blue screen” process is used to insert prerecorded video material (which was originally filmed in front of a blue screen) into the user’s environment.
The user and the user’s environment are captured via the high resolution video camera in the set-top box.
Because the set-top box is connected to both the user’s DVD player (which transmits the pre-recorded video material) and TV/monitor, the viewer will see on their TV/monitor the “composite” image—the pre-recorded video material seamlessly combined in real time with the user’s image and background environment (the room the user is standing in).
To operate, simply connect the Duo to your DVD player, point it into the viewing area, insert the content disk, turn on your TV and get ready for a reality that's anything BUT virtual.
Side By Side’s technology works by enabling the camera to convert the area it's ‘looking' at, into the ‘environment', and enables the characters on the content disk to ‘come alive' and ‘interact' with you - all on your TV screen.
If you have a TV and DVD player, you have everything you need to experience Side By Side. That's because unlike other technologies which require a massive investment of new equipment, Side by Side was created to easily integrate with existing technology and equipment.
The user can also record the composite image using a DVD recorder or VCR connected to the TV/monitor during their Side By Side experience for later analysis. This makes it an even more valuable educational and training tool because the user can now be tested on what they have learned.
Unlike lesser systems which put a virtual representation of you into their ‘just as virtual’ world, Side By Side enables its content to interact with YOU, in YOUR world. That's because Side By Side was created to function in your world, not the other way around.
Content development is every bit as cost effective as system integration. That's because our proprietary use of Blue Screen technology means that all materials are ‘shot' against a blue screen which eliminates the need for expensive sets and backgrounds.
Once in use, the Duo set top box camera simple ‘replaces' the blue screen with whatever environment its pointed at, while leaving the characters intact.
