Long Talk w/Robert!

He was unusually talkative and conversational this AM...decidedly upbeat and anticipating the imminent rollout of products, beginning in April and lasting throughout the year.

Question #1- Has the recent news from Palm and the overall market conditions effected our OEM timelines?
Response #1- No! Our OEM customers are not pulling back. They see the handheld market as taking the place of the booming PC market of the recent past. The days of buying a PC and adding endless additional bloatware are over. Handhelds are taking over and our OEMs are going full speed ahead. They are wrapping up production to meet the demands of DataPlay and a fall rollout of products.

Question #2- Are we involved in products other than music players/JBs that will be out soon?
Response #2- Yes. We are much more than a music player/Lanier only company now. We are uniquely positioned with DataPlay. We were there first, integrating our MicroCam technology in many other platforms and products. Now, those platforms are becoming reality and we will be able to announce those products soon. It is worth noting that the quantities that the OEMs are talking about with DataPlay are impressive!

Q#3- The IBM Travelstar drives....will we see additional applications in other Edig designs?
R#2- Most of the OEMs that will be bringing out our JB platform initially will be using a Travelstar drive. However, a few significant OEMs will be using other hard drives due to their own established relationships with other CE firms.

Q#4- The HyTek delays....is this spilling over into Eastech?
R#4- No. You have to realize that Eastech is on a completely different time schedule than Hango. They started much later and are moving very quickly to bring products to market. HyTek's main problem was their enthusiasm for our platform. Realizing how advanced it was, they wanted to get out early, to be first to market.
We tried to get them to just base their estimates on the quarter, not specific months, but they chose otherwise. Nonetheless, I don't see any show-stoppers here. The good news is that products are coming!

Q#5- How would you answer the pessimists that abound because of the share price?
R#5- I love our position in this new market but I hate the share price! Fundamentally, Edig is vastly improved over a year ago. We have multiple OEMs for our JB platform, some announced and others still to be announced. It is time to deliver and we are confident that we will do just that. We have Fleischman-Hillard ready to bring Edig to the forefront of the handheld market and into the public eye. We will start to see the results of our efforts. Treo has been delivered and will continue to be delivered to reviewers. Other OEMs jukeboxes will be delivered to reviewers shortly and after that, to the retail marketplace.

Q#6- How would you sum up Edig's situation for the remainder of this year? Are you happy about our progress and near term prospects?
R#6- Oh! Yes! Very happy. I have been here since 1988. The minor delays that have been caused by changing market conditions have been just course corrections. We have faced much greater problems in the past. Now is the time to deliver and we are ready to do so! Everything takes time. I think this will be much bigger in the end than anyone realizes. We, at Edig, are the beginning and the middle of product design and development, but we are not the end. We do not control the end. That is up to the OEMs....and the OEMs believe that this is the future!

Stay tuned, everyone! Robert's comments today were full of unbridled excitement and a feeling of imminent success. He was reluctant to place any specific dates or timelines to anything because he is aware of shareholder attitudes that they've heard this all before. But, his message was clear! He frequently used the expression..."now is the time to deliver!", and I am convinced that the time starts in April. IMHO!
