I wrote Dataplay about when there recorder-players would come out....Here is what i sent and recieved...Nothing exciting but interesting all the same...IMHO..

Dear Sir,
I was wondering if a recorder was coming out any time soon. I know you are waiting for content, such as prerecorded discs but It would be nice if there was a DP recorder to purchase before that time. With blank discs I can record my own CD mixes from my current collection and have them to listen to while jogging etc. CD player just doesn't cut it..
Please consider it...

Dear Scott:
Thank you for your interest in DataPlay. Actually, the blank digital media
could be sold tomorrow, it's the players that we are waiting for! Our
partners had to design the engines that run the media, around the media
itself - so it was already invented and working. We want both products to
come out at the same time, so that you have both the players and blank discs
at the same time. If the pre-recorded material is not ready to go by then,
we still plan to launch with our blank media and players - which will be the
fall of this year.
