Is anyone getting ANY technical help here. My X_Dev has not been working since the beginning of the year and I have NOT received any help yet.
Even though I liked the software I would advise anyone contemplating buying this product not to buy it because of the lack of support.

Myst,
My X-Dev has now become useless. In addition to the problem I posted in February I can now not add any new stocks. When I enter a new stock suybol I end up with X-Dev not responding.
What should I do? Should I just delete the existing D-Dev and reinstall it? This is now costing me money.
Can you give me some support here.

Maybe someone else has had this message. Can't enter any new trades in the portfolio

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

I submitted the same message to the website Mystworld. No reply. The portfolio is not updating. tried reinstalling without success. Too bad, its a good program. I am looking at other AIM software.

X_Dev program breaking down. I can't update prices through the portfolio. I get frequent error messages, sometimes after hitting the X_Play button. Do I need to reload the program? Today is 5/26. Can't seem to get the price to update itself.

Myst,
All of a sudden when I go into the Whatif function on Yahoo to get the latest price for a stock, all I am getting is to-days date with the stock price and high and low as blanks. Everything else seems to work fine.
Any suggestions?

Have built new pc and new laptop need download link for XDev and registration information for both.

Old desktop and laptop were scrubbed clean of any XDev software.

Myst,

When I go to my Portfolio page and hit the binoclar icon and then hit Refresh nothing seems to happen, even though it shows I have stocks on the page. Do I need to turn some option on that I have not done? I am using an XP computer and using IE 7.3 Beta as my default browser.

XDEV Upgrade/fix and Error Code 429

The error code 429 problem still exists even after the
recent XDEV upgrade/fix. It occurs when a Microsoft security update is installed -
(KB911562 _deals with Data Access Components v2.8).
More details are in post 582.

The solution, mentioned on the website above for registry repair, still will not solve it either:

"Error code 429 - Solution: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q260885& "

The upgrade did solve the problems with the 'What if' function.

Error code #429 & Microsoft Security Update KB911562

Myst,
Downloading and installing Microsoft security update
KB911562 (deals with Data Access Components v2.8)
caused Error code #429 & loss of data updates.
The fix mentioned above, to correct the registry, does not seem to resolve it.

There is no way to uninstall the security update so my eventual
solution was to recreate the system from a backup and
avoid installing the KB911562 update (WIN98se).
XDEV is working fine at this point.

Here is a detailed description from MS regarding the
KB911562 security update:

More people will probably be seeing the same problem
eventually.

Let us know if/when you guys are able to interface XDEV with
the MS update.

Something must be wrong on your end Ted. Everything is fully functional on the trial version. The only limitation are the stocks you can choose........only QQQQ and ATYT are available.

I downloaded the 3.5v trial of xdev and have encountered the following problems:
When I hit the charts or MRI buttons the program stops and I get an error message.
The blue lines don't move when I change the band offset #'s
Under the Tools the "Option" parameter is greyed out and can't be opened.
I do get the xdev charts for 2 symbols with the current eod prices.
I can't believe these items would be limited being this is a trial version.
Can you help? I am running MS windows xp home version.
I tried downloading a few times and re-installing still no-go.

Hi Myst ... I am trying to get the trial version of X-dev to run, but it won't recognize my network internet connection. It just sits there and says it can't find QQQ info. Is there any way that I can tell it what kind of internet connection I have in order to get it to work ??

Myst,
Had a major computer problem at my house. The storms that hit the area had a lightning strike hit my house and I lost my computer, audio receiver, halogen lamps in the kitchen, and television. I filed an insurance claim and bought new stuff but I lost my x-dev on my old computer. Is there a way to download it onto my new one? If not, is there a discount for buying the program again, especially for one of your first 50? Thanks.

Re your post #552, do you subscribe to Vectorvest, which allows you to backtest their picks for a particular day? Or do you have some other way to backtest the stocks their screen selects for Buy, Hold and Sell?

If we could do that from the tables on your home page, we could see how their "Buy" choices perform during times when the general market is trending up and/or down.

I think it would be interesting to have this ability to test the performance of the various screens you publish.

At times you show the Vectorvest table of current top stocks at the top of your home page. Is there anyway that we could check the archives of this table to see the performance of this screen?

For example, go back 10 days, or any period of time, and see what the loss or gain would have been on each stock in that day's picks.

There is a problem with the yahoo data feed. Yong is looking into it. When the problem occurs, try switching to the Silicon Investor feed. That will usually solve the date issue.

I was using CRAY, but the same results occur whatever stock I try. If I keep hitting "enter" the date may eventually get to the current date...it goes back two or three days when I try to change a number in the trading set-up box.

1} When I change a number in the the trading set-up, do I use "enter" or "x-play" -- the end date changes when I do either method even though "keep today as end date is checked".

2) Although I have the minimum 12+ trading days set, I get the message: "you must use a time period greather than 11 days".

I bought XDEV many months ago, but have not used it recently. Now when I try to open it I get the Error 13 message. I have done what the FAQs said to do and rebooted, but I still get the Error 13 message and it still will not open.
