hey man, what have you been up to these days? I was doing well with metals then took a big hit recently. I swear, every time I think i have it figured out, i get killed. It takes 6 mths to make the kind of profits I lose in 2 days sometimes.

Not sure if it's even worthwhile to try the market in these later stages of bubble formation. Sitting on cash at 1% is almost as bad.

I'm just plain out at this point. I had great gains in silver earlier in the year and that disappeared in a day or two. Now, I just hold my RDS-A (Royal dutch shell) for dividends. What are we to do at this point? It would be outright idiotic to enter the general market right now. There's no way these levels are going to hold. I'll enter mutual funds when it pulls back and forget about it.

Any thoughts on the market? I may hit VXX big on any given strong green day that pushes the market to new recent highs... i don't believe any of this is sustainable for even a day. At some point, VXX and other short positions are going to pay off big.

you're right... i'm not sure where i'm supposed to put my money these days.. I can't keep playing the 3x silver funds (USLV/DSLV)... I have to watch every tick with those damn things and it's too distracting day to day... I can't even place 'stop-losses' on those things because the price magically falls to my 'stop loss' price a few seconds after i place the order. It happened once right before my eyes... i won't do that again.

I was looking at some 'retirement calculator' and it is assuming 8% yearly gains from investments... does that sound right to you? It seems pretty freaking high to me. I'm beating that big time with my silver flipping, but I could fall on my ass just as quickly with that. Man, what I would do for yesteryears' 30-40%/year mutual fund returns.. those days are gone.

Agreed with all... i just don't know how one can possibly prepare for what's ahead of us. Ammo is rare these days, i can only stock so much provisions, land of any nature is expensive as all hell in NJ... It's going to be ugly, just don't know what timeframe it will completely fall apart.

The Fed keeps monetizing debt at the tune of 85 billion a month, sonething is gonna happen, either we get hyperinflation or we continue on a deflationary path where people will continue to consolidate their personal balance sheets which dosesn't bode well for our economy, Basically Adam we are fucked either way as I see. Hard assets, farmland, bullets, guns and provisions.

This will not end with everyone dancing in the streets in a joyous celebration.

Being out of pinks is like getting out of a bad marriage. My life has been notably better since i've stopped trading those things. SLV and USLV give me some excitement, but at the end of the day there will never be a reverse split or a 90% drop in value in a matter of minutes with these.

Stayed at home throughout holidays. Had some issues with my prior employer and had to get a different job, so the holidays were pretty stressful. Things look good for now. Still, wondering where we should be throwing our money these days.... years from now, people will look back on these times and point out the 'golden opportunity'.... i thought it was silver for a while, but now i'm not so sure.

Thoughts? It's not as easy as simply collecting real estate these days...

You heard about this guy Lombardi? He's publishing 5 articles about investing through the upcoming financial crisis (for a cost of course).. seems to think we're heading towards a historic recession (part 2)

Talks about investing in gold mining stocks, an undisclosed fiat currency (quick research maybe suggests Austraila/New Zealand), ETFs that increase in value with the decline of the dollar and the decline of the stock market (VXX?)

Any thoughts on any of this? Any ideas why silver is never added to these investment discussions?

We knew something wasn't right... they had nothing to talk about after merging, that's a bad situation when the a/s was already maxed out... plus, they never did return my emails requesting information as to which insurance company was backing them. They have nothing, and there will be 4-5 reverse splits down the road before they have anything to talk about, if ever....
