Graham Allen of MOSAID was an expert witness for Hynix today. He went through his EE background, and experience at JEDEC,while employed with MOSAID. Hynix questioned Graham about his involvement in writing technical specifications related to SDRAM and DDR. He said he wrote 10 to 20% of the specifications for SDRAM while in JEDEC and I think he said about 40% for DDR. He cited all the companies that went to JEDEC, not a mention of Rambus though.

The fun was when Hynix counsel turned the question over to Rambus. Rambus asked if he knew MOSDAID sued Hynix for patent infringement, he said yes. Rambus asked if he knew that the award was $80 million, he said he has no idea, as such information was not released to the public or to him. Then Rambus brought out a memo as evidence of the 80 mill settlement.

The best part is the sleeping jury woke up with smiles of astonishment on their beautiful faces.
