Corruption and abuses of power are the norm...NOT THE EXCEPTION !

To make this statement is cynical I know...but one ONLY need open his/her eyes to observe this dark reality of human nature EVERYDAY !

The problem (or at least ONE of the problems) with this whole dumb "iHub snitch" idea is that the selection process will most likely be done secretly and the "cops" will most likely be F. O. M. (ie. Friends of Matt). What that would mean is that the very posters who already get away with murder around here and are already given preferential treatment (because they are F. O. M.) would be the very ones "secretly chosen" to ENFORCE THE RULES ! lol

The whole premise is flawed from the get go !

A suggestion was made (by several here last night) that the identities of the newly appointed "cops" remain a closely held secret.

This is an EVEN DUMBER IDEA...than the ORIGINAL DUMB IDEA !

The "cops'" identities SHOULD BE KNOWN AND COMPLETELY REVEALED to every member that posts here. To do it any other way would just invite abuse because the "snitches" would be operating without fear of scrutiny from their fellow iHub members.

Some semblance of a "system of checks and balances" would be severely compromised if these "snitches" operated with complete anonymity !

Slippery Slope Indeed !!! imo
