Well... lets go back even further.... :o)
I had t'do some history on this stuff in college (Phillips Univ.)
from many years ago I remember a story...
It seems that Sarai was Abram's wife and she was havin' trouble trying
to have a son (which God had promised to give the land to the first son)
Sooo... to make sure that Abram had a son, she brought Hager (her servant)
to him and said here try this so you can have a son...
IT WORKED... Ishmael was born... hurrah, hurrah....
(Oooo ya, by the way.. I was told this one also becomes the father of Arabs)
Now, all the pressure was off of Sarai.... guess what... yup you're right
Sarai got pregnant and now she has a son... Issac
Sooo.. She wants to get rid of that other, son of a servant....
and has mother and son run off...
But the questions are still questionable... which one is the first son...
AND why can't this family learn to get along....
Looks to me that if the boys had been raised together
they might get along a whole lot better...
If it wasn't for that women trying to be in control of everything then
things probably would have worked out just fine...... :o)
