An interesting comment from an analyst who seems to think AMD still has yield problems.

"In Q4, we believe AMD shipped about 150,000 units of its Athlon 64 processors versus a planned 350,000 units due to on-going silicon-on-insulator (SOI) yield issues. We also continue to believe that AMD will need to resolve its Athlon 64 memory controller issues for the desktop PC market segment. By having the memory controller built-in each version of the Athlon 64 processor, motherboard manufacturers' costs will increase because they will need a separate motherboard for each Athlon 64 version and each motherboard will require its own testing process." - Tai Nguyen, Susquehanna Financial Group
