(ARIAD) is engaged in the discovery and development of medicines to treat cancers by regulating cell signaling with small molecules. The Company's cancer product candidate, AP23573, has been or is being studied in multiple clinical trials in patients with various types of cancers, including sarcomas, hormone refractory prostate cancer, endometrial cancer, brain cancer and leukemias and lymphomas. Its second product candidate, AP24534, as of March 14, 2007, was in preclinical testing for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia.
