CytRx to present favorable study data on diabetic wound treatment

CytRx Corp. said Monday it will present favorable study data highlighting the effectiveness of iroxanadine in speeding up the healing of diabetic wounds.
In the study, diabetic mice treated with iroxanadine healed from diabetic wounds nearly two times faster than untreated diabetic mice, according to CytRx (nasdaq: CYTR - news - people ).
CytRx said the results are conclusive enough to support its initiation of a Phase II clinical trial in the first quarter of 2009 for the use of iroxanadine in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.
