Rock 'n' Roll Artists...Tommy Roe

Perhaps the best lead-in for an artist like Tommy Roe is a simple statement. "Don't pigeonhole him."

In the entertainment world, and especially the music business, it is extremely easy to categorize acts and artists and be done with it. Occasionally, however, an artist comes along who cannot be stuck so neatly into one niche or another, an artist whose creativity is too broadly based. Tommy Roe is one of those people.

Tommy is a multi-faceted, international artist who has continued his career from the beginning, in 1961 to the present with the ability to survive the peaks and valleys that are inevitable in such a long journey. Tommy was born in Georgia, USA, and he and his wife split their time between their homes in California and Georgia. Tommy's wife, Josette, was born in France and travels with him on many of his concert dates. Josette is very helpful when they travel internationally because of her language skills. She is also an actress and enjoys a career of her own.

If you haven't had the chance to enjoy some of Tommy's music, pick up one of his latest "Greatest Hits" CD's and plug into an original. Tommy's music is warm and friendly and sure to put a smile on your face. His song, "Dizzy," was one of his biggest hits, along with "Sheila," "Sweet Pea," "Hooray for Hazel,"and "Everybody." Some of his best songs may not ring a bell until you hear them. They include "It's Now Winters Day," "The Folk Singer," "Heather Honey," and "Jam Up and Jelly Tight."
