Some SSB Comments to the new SUN annoucements. Seems like this
firm doesn't like anything from AMD.

(with SPARC to follow) at a fixed price of $1 per processor per hour.

discount on Solaris licenses for customers migrating from Linux. In addition, customers will be able to trade in existing Intel Xeon-based servers for up to $1,250 in credit towards the
purchase of Sun Opteron-based systems.

While Sun sells both Xeon- and Opteron-based servers, Sun's new trade-in offer (significant
credits toward the purchase of Opteron-based systems when customers trade in Xeon-based
systems) clearly reveals the company’s X86 processor of choice. The addition of four-way
Opteron-based servers and Opteron-based workstations also demonstrates Sun’s expanding
commitment to the platform.
