Advanced Micro upped at Piper on more flash certainty (AMD)

LONDON (CBS.MW) -- Piper Jaffray upgraded chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) to "market perform" from "underperform," based on continued strength in the processor business and more certainty in the flash business. "While AMD could not assuage fears about flash pricing, its decision to aggressively gain share and to accelerate lower cost technology gives us some comfort about downside protection," the broker said in a note to clients.
