The state is once again pushing for mandating rubberized asphalt. Interesting huh? They want Caltrans to use minimum 30% rubberized by 2006, then gradually more each year until they reach the goal....no, I'm not sure what the eventuality or goal is but seems like 100% rubberized in ten years...don't quote me on the 100%, just what I heard.

They have a bill that's only waiting to be signed to also increase the fee for accepting used tires from $1.00 to $1.75 ea.
The money will be used primarily for grants to kick-start the mandate.

Sooo.....do you remember what companies were actually operating in the black and had Caltrans gigs...do either of you guys recall? RTEK leased their operation out fully...if I remember correctly, right? It's been a while.
Might be worth a look-see to see what players will be supplying Caltrans.
