kc - it just so happens i've been busy this winter designing a new shop myself. here's some links that were helpfull to me.

this one is for help in designing the ultimate rolling workbench. i'm going to incorporate my homemade version of the tool dock system ( a link to follow ) into the top of mine and also make it the same height as my table saw cabinet so it doubles as a big feeder table. in all of my past workbenches i have internally wired them and used a high quality extension cord hard-wired to the bench for the power supply. i will be incorporating a dust collection system into my new bench. wiring a switched plug into the bench to control bigger power tools has worked well for me too.

here's the tool dock home page. like i said i'm going to design my own using part of the top of my work bench as the working platform instead of all of their expensive cabinets. making a storage cabinet for the various tools doesn't seem to be a major problem. the good thing is you can go see this entire system for ideas at your local sears store.

plans for various tables and jigs. by looking at the pictures you can probably build most of these without buying the plans.
