NEWS Virgin Entertainment First to Get 'Keywords' for PaperClick Mobile Marketing

NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OTC BB: NEOM), announced today that Virgin(R) Entertainment Group, Inc., is the first company to register "Keywords" for mobile marketing campaigns on cell phones and PDA's via NeoMedia's PaperClick(R) Mobile Go-Window(TM).

Speaking at CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2005 at Moscone Center, Martin Copus, head of NeoMedia's Wireless Business Unit and the company's COO, welcomed Virgin Entertainment as the first to register PaperClick Keywords as part of the PaperClick Mobile Marketing Solution(TM) (www.PaperClick.com).

He said that "Virgin," "Virgin Megastore," "Virgin Entertainment," "Virgin Digital," "Virginmega Magazine" and "Virgin Recommends" are the first words/phrases in the new PaperClick Keyword Registry(TM).

'An Aggressive, Leading Edge Marketer and Innovator'

"Since the 1980's, the Virgin name has been synonymous with aggressive, leading-edge marketing and innovation," he said. "Once again Virgin has stepped up to be first, this time to register Mobile Keywords in the PaperClick Keyword Registry. When a Keyword is entered in the PaperClick Go-Window, a horizontal text window on cell phones, it creates a one-click connection to a linked Web page (URL) on the mobile Internet."

Introduced at CTIA, Mobile Keywords entered in the PaperClick Go-Window bring direct-to-Internet mobile marketing to cell phones, PDA's and other popular wireless devices, enabling product managers and marketing-driven businesses to interact and conduct e-commerce 24/7. Keywords, which cannot be resold by registrants, can be brand names and slogans, as well as numbers, codes, etc.

"Virgin has recognized the exponentially expanded 'brand-in-the-hand' offerings NeoMedia has created and made available to marketers," said Mr. Copus. "With Keywords, Virgin Entertainment will take its customers directly to promotional offers and ads on the mobile Internet by having them enter one of the Keywords it has registered and clicking 'Go'," he said.

The registering of Keywords continues Virgin's relationship with NeoMedia. In June, Virgin licensed NeoMedia's PaperClick technology platform through 2016.

No 'Cyber-Squatting' for Keywords

"NeoMedia will only license keywords of trademarks to their legitimate owners, such as the words and phrases registered to Virgin," he said. "This eliminates the cyber-squatting and time-consuming and costly litigation that marked the early days of domain registrations."

To check the availability of a word or phrase for registration, brand managers and others should go to www.PaperClick.com/registry and click "Search Keywords," entering a word or phrase to determine its availability. First time users should register, and thereafter log-in.

If a requested Keyword is available, NeoMedia will process the application, thoroughly researching to see if it has been otherwise trademarked, and provide a market price for registration and activation. Once a signed user agreement and payment are received, Keywords are activated and ready for use.

Information is available from NeoMedia at (630) 435-9200, Ext. 118, or online at www.PaperClick.com.
