Actually I just had this convesation with a friend of mine. Between the falling dollar, rising oil, the U.S pumping 200 bil+ into the market to help with the subprime market something is a foot. I think somebody is mucking with the US economy, or at least see it slow down.

Well I was simply saying that there is no cycle of market crashes. They all happen whenever they happen, if they were 10 years apart for a fact, why would anyone still put money in the market on any tenth year. The 1987 crash happened as a result of underdeveloped new computer technology and people panic selling because everyone else was selling. Some brokers were even killed over it by their clients who lost millions. People thought the stock market was going to crash in 2003 because the market was similar to 1987 too. Oh and the stock market was up 44% in 1987......and this year i think we are at 5%? I'm not sure

Remember the Wall Street crash of October 1987 when stocks had their worst single day in history? Older market professionals certainly do. They also recall that the 1987 crash came after a sharp weakening of the US dollar and a rally in stocks. Is that not what we are seeing again now?

oh....so you found the pattern.... but you must have forgotten we had a huge crash in 2000-2002. That crash in october 1997 was a correction, stocks only lost a lot of points for one day and the market rebounded the next. And the crash in october 1987, is unexplainable, nobody has any idea really why the market plunged that day, it was mainly panic selling. oh and don't forget 1916,1939,1929,1973,1901,1919,1906,1937,1930.................... and those are all the top ten worst.But there must be a pattern in there somewhere. I Aint Scurd.

The dollar has taken a plunge during the past two weeks. The US dollar index broke below its 85 support level and has been falling ever since. Its next support area is 80, which has been support for the dollar index for 30 years. "The support has been broken today. And if the dollar index stays below 80 for more than a few weeks a full blown dollar rout will be very likely,"
