Established electric Truckmaker listing on Nasdaq. Ticker SMTH.

Smith Electric has been building roadgoing electric delivery vehicles in the UK for over 80 years, with thousands of them in use worldwide. Recently bought out by their US offshoot, they are now a US company, shipping 40 'Smith Newton' trucks a month from their Kansas City factory, and shipping hundreds of 'Smith Edison' vans from their UK plant. They intend replicating their KC facility in several other US states and already have a site arranged in New York.

Nasdaq ticker will be SMTH. I've set up a discussion thread at

I already own stock in Tesla and will likely be buying SMTH when available. At present the only way in (unless you're a seriously big investor) is by owning stock in Tanfield Group, the UK company that once owned Smith EV and who currently maintain a 27.22% stake in it.

so if the price dropped on that news (market always reacts 10x more exaggerated than reality is - both ways up and down), I took as golde opportunity. The same time there was announced that they were awarded 3.2 milions of usd from US Navy...but this was not PRed yet...

Small cars like that are the next "fad"/necessity for the market, but the American public is going to want their big bangin' flashy auto as always. Especially if they are constantly competing for road space next to all the Walmart semi-trucks. Short of Walmarts distribution centers being attached with underground electric tram railing. The big American car will prevail... gas, electric, hydrogen, or hydro fuel powered whatever it be. Americans like to feel safe.

Just using Walmart as an example facetiously, hehe.

Nah, I want a big, safe, American sized, car. My solution to this is simple but I won't comment on that part right now. That is definately a start, but, I believe that size of car has a smaller niche market then what I could produce with my ideas.

ok, just please note that all these stocks of electric vehicles are mainly speculative, as you can see none of that companies is profitable...That is why I did recommend other two boards.
But HEV and ZAAP are most interesting - they are building the cars. But especially HEV seems to be strong. It became debt free and there is a huge bunch of institutions in it. Buy under five should be win...

I'll check those other sites out. But my interest is in the development of an idea for electrics yet to be "looked" into as a niche market about which I have been working. Some of those companies can help me in my endeavour. Thanks for the info.
